Dear Members,
It is with sadness that we inform you of the passing away of our Founder, Gen, Choi Hong Hi at 20.35 hours (Korean Time) on 15th. June 2002 in Pyongyang. The funeral was yesterday, 17th. June, in Pyongyang. We extend our condolences to the family of Gen. Choi and would like them to know that our thoughts are with them at this time of sorrow. The ITF website itf-generalchoi.com has a condolences book which we ask you to visit.
The Korean TKD Federation told us that a memorial service will be held in Pyongyang on 22nd. or 23rd. September 2002 which is 100 days after the passing away. An invitation has been extended to any of the individual members of the ITF who may wish to go to this memorial service and you are expected to cover your own expenses. Anyone wishing to go should apply for a visa through the ITF Secretariat in Vienna. The details required are:
Name, Address, Date and place of Birth, Sex, Nationality, Occupation and Passport Number.
There will be a sense of loss but our wish is that you have the courage to remain steadfast and carry on as normal in your TKD activities. Although our loss is great the ITF will function as before but with Mr. Russell MacLellan as the acting President.
